John Meinen

Hi there! My name is John, and I am the campus minister for RUF at UVM.

In 2004, I graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Upon graduation, I backpacked throughout South/Southeast Asia, spent a year of service with AmeriCorps VISTA in the San Francisco Bay Area, studied microfinance in Bangladesh, and encountered Christ in the slums of Nairobi and the war zones of northern Uganda. Back in the States, I led backpacking trips for Outward Bound, participated in a year-long fellowship program in the DC area, earned a Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).

In 2010, I married a wonderful woman named Megan. Since graduating from Davidson College in 2007, Megan has done some really cool stuff: she spent 35 days in Patagonia mountaineering with NOLS, pursued a Masters in outdoor education at the University of Edinburgh, directed a place-based summer camp at the Crane Estate in Ipswich, MA, and more! She currently manages the UVM ropes course.

Megan and I are excited to be a part of the Burlington and UVM community. We would love to get to know you. If you want to know more about us, our ministry, etc., please don't hesitate to contact us via email (john.meinen@ruf.org) or cell (John: 802.922.4202; Megan: 843.384.5284). Cheers!
